Carla
Two Months
Clare was diagnosed with cancer two months ago. In those two months, Clare has been sedated 33 times and received 30 radiation treatments. She has had 28 doctors appointments. She has had her port accessed 8 times. Clare has had 2 MRIs, 1 CT scan, and 1 surgery to place her port. She lost the hair on the back of her head.
Clare was diagnosed with cancer two months ago. In those two months, Clare visited the giraffes, her favorite animal, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo twice. She was able to pet a sheep and a goat at Lake FarmPark. We washed dishes, played with babies, and crawled through pipes at the Children's Museum. We climbed a tree house at Cleveland Botanical Garden. She visited the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.
We played on lots of playgrounds - testing slides and swings across the city. She demolished at least 23 bottles of bubbles and lost countless pieces of sidewalk chalk to a lawnmower. Clare met Santa and his elves. She had tea parties and met beautiful princesses. She watched Frozen 18 times, Tangled 30 times, and Trolls 963 times. (Much love, Poppy!)
We ate a lot of ice cream, pie and donuts. We had so many visitors come by to play. Clare made lots of new friends at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Seidman Cancer Center and even returned to school. In true Clare fashion, she began preschool with shades and an attitude.
Clare has received amazing and generous gifts from friends, family, and people she doesn't even know. Our family has received amazing and generous gifts and support from friends, family, and people we don't even know. We have received so many warm wishes and thoughts and had people across the world pray for Clare. The amount of love we have felt is immeasurable. And we are so very, very, very thankful.
Clare was diagnosed with cancer two months ago. On that day, her doctor said that she would have two months to live if we chose not to pursue treatment.
There have absolutely been rough parts, but there have been many, many wonderful, magical, hopeful and beautiful parts.
