A Princess & A Pirate

Ahoy! Yo Ho Ho!

Did you hear about that new pirate movie?

It's rated "Arrrrrrrrrrrrhhhh!"

Our sweet little princess has turned into a pirate.

Shiver me timbers! Clare's right eye turned inward (facing her nose) in mid-December. While her MRI was stable, this new symptom is a bit concerning to her doctors. She has seen her team at Cincinnati Children's & at Rainbow's, including an ophthalmologist. A variety of reasons may be causing her eye to turn inward, including damage from radiation, swelling due to radiation/chemotherapy, or other factors.

While her eyes are healthy, it is hard for Clare to see using her right eye. She has complained that it hurts from time to time. To help alleviate any pain or soreness she may feel, she will start to wear a patch over her right eye. However, not necessarily this pirate one. :)

Hopefully her eye weakness is only temporary and will return to normal soon. We will head back to Cincinnati Children's next week where they will check out our little scallywag. Hopefully she will be back to shipshape condition soon. In the meantime, we have replaced her scepter with a sword. Let's hope she doesn't make her doctors walk the plank.

And because everyone loves a good pirate joke, here are a few more:

Q: What do ye call a pirate with two eyes and two legs? A: A rookie

Q: Why does it take pirates so long to learn the alphabet? A: Because they can spend years at C.

Q: What did the ocean say to the pirate? A: Nothing, it just waved.
